Current Business Situation in Iran
Australia to implement UN Security Council resolution on Iran
The UN Security Council has imposed targeted sanctions against Iran under UN Security Council Resolution 1737. Companies or individuals having dealings with Iran should be aware that Australia will now be proceeding to implement the terms of UN Security Council Resolution 1737, which imposes certain restrictions on financial dealings, trade and technical assistance in respect of Iran, as well as travel controls.
If you now or in the future have any dealings with Iranian entities or entities with links to Iran, we recommend that you seek independent legal advice before doing so.
For more information about the Iran sanctions, please go to the following website: http://www.dfat.gov.au/un/unsc_sanctions/iran.html
Detailed information on the export of defence and dual-use goods can be viewed at the Department of Defence's Trade Control and Compliance website: http://www.defence.gov.au/strategy/dtcc/default.html
