Temporary Work (Short Stay Activity) visa (Subclass 400)
This visa is for people who want to travel to Australia to:
• do short-term, highly specialised, non-ongoing work
• participate in non-ongoing cultural or social activities at the invitation of an Australian organisation, or
• in limited circumstances, participate in an activity or work relating to Australia’s interests.
This application can be made online or on paper.
Note: This visa should not be confused with the Visitor - Business visa (Subclass 600) which allows business people to make a short business visit to Australia. Business activities may include attending a conference or training session, business negotiations, an exploratory business visit or attending professional examinations. This is also the appropriate visa subclass for official travel by government employees and government-sponsored delegations.
